Sometimes you want to be a solo adventurer, getting to know the world and all it has to offer, playing at your own pace and not forcing things. These 10 MMORPGs are great for giving you a fantastic solo experience. While all MMORPGs can (and maybe even should) be played with friends, these games offer something special that makes solo play quite enjoyable.
Guild Wars 2
The opening story of Guild Wars 2 is a single-player story that unfolds as you level up, and the level up experience is designed to make it easy for solo players to navigate the world, completing challenges and exploring everything the game has to offer. .
Even tasks such as killing world bosses can be completed without the need to team up. Just show up and help others defeat the boss and you’ll get all the rewards without even joining a group.
Star Wars: The Old Republic
The storylines of the classes in Star Wars: The Old Republic are as close to a single-player game as an MMO can be. Each class has its own instance story that is told throughout your adventures in the world. Very soon, you’ll even get your very own starship to travel across the galaxy and explore unique worlds.
SWTOR is as close to KOTOR II as can be, but the stories told for each class along the way have their own uniqueness and make you want to play just to enjoy the story.
With the new character creation system, it’s easier than ever to play any storyline you want without having to create a specific class like in years past, but we recommend starting with the Imperial Agent storyline, it’s a great “classic spy story”.
I still think that SWTOR is the best PvE MMORPG with a great storyline.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Every quest in The Elder Scrolls Online is voiced and contains context for what you are doing. The voiced plot of the game and all the quests keep the interest in the game and help to keep from the mindless grind of mobs.
If you like the MMO story and the feeling of being immersed in the world, ESO does a fantastic job of making you feel like you’re part of a living, breathing world.
Neverwinter
Choose a class in Neverwinter and embark on an adventure through the world of Dungeons & Dragons, where you can easily complete the story quests alone. There are many solo quests in the game, and when you move on to the passage of campaigns, they can also be completed alone. The campaign alone has several hours of content, and a single player, if desired, can easily work his way up to the maximum level and continue to get high from the game.

Over the years, The Lord of the Rings Online has made great strides when it comes to solo content. Many story points that were previously required to find a group can now be played solo, and often quests give you the choice of whether to continue in a group or alone.
The world of LOTRO is huge and you will spend hours exploring it, completing quests and following the main story, following the movements of the Fellowship of the Ring on their way to Mordor.
Star Trek Online
Exploring the story chapters of Star Trek Online is a great way to progress through the game on your own, completing missions and getting to know the life of a Starfleet officer.
