After the announcement Tekken 8 during State of Play chief producer and game director of a series of fighting games Katsuhiro Harada (Katsuhiro Harada) shared details about the upcoming game.
According to him, the passage shown in the trailer is taken from the story mode of the eighth part. The content of the video was recorded directly on the PlayStation 5 at 60 fps. “In other words, all models, backs and effects [на видео] the same as in the game. Although we have taken footage from the story mode, this is not a pre-rendered trailer.”– clarified Harada.
The game director recalled that the series Tekken is famous for its spectacular cutscenes, but for the first show of the new game, the team decided to showcase the quality of the fighting game on PS5. For example, the level of detail and character models in Tekken 8 differ significantly from those in Tekken 7.
Also Harada drew attention to the dynamic backdrops on the locations. While the characters are handing out cuffs to each other, a tanker may be falling apart in the background or a thunderstorm may be raging.
The producer did not reveal plot details, but clarified that Tekken 8 will focus on the confrontation between father and son – Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.
Tekken 8 will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but no release date yet. The developers hinted at the announcement of a new part of the fighting game back in early August during the EVO 2022 championship.
