Good to you comrades! This is the second part about aircraft classes in War Thunder, and again I am Phoenix. My dear friends, how many stormtrooper class units do you think each nation has? 10-15? 20? No, there are only 5-8 pieces in total, and this is in the USSR and Germany, while Japan does not have them at all as a class, and the USA has 2 of them, but Britain has some 5 pieces. Actually, I’m all about the fact that there are not so many attack aircraft, and it’s very easy to remember them all, if you need a friend to assess the situation after the player attacked the IL-2, you will immediately understand that, having 8 missiles and 4 bombs, he could calmly take out a whole column of equipment. Well, just like that, we just approached the calling of “stormtroopers”, but more on that below.
About Stormtroopers in general
Attack aircraft are something between fighters and bombers in terms of their properties, they are quite maneuverable, capable of developing decent speed, and also have bombs, but in addition they are armed with missiles, which makes them even more serious opponents. So, let’s say again what we have – bombs 1-4 jokes (in most cases) rockets 4-8 pieces, and machine guns, not cannons – machine guns, they are actually not so deadly, but with much more ammunition … below we we will directly get acquainted with the tactics of warfare, and the most effective use of this type of aircraft.
Tactics on “stormtroopers”
The best option would be to combine attacks on ground targets and combat with the enemy in the air, I adhere to the following sequence of actions:
Immediately after the start, we try to fly with the main group, usually these are formed just from attack aircraft like us, they fly to bomb tanks first in order to be in time, I advise you not to chase prey, and not be greedy, play for fun, in general, here is your group, flying this means that in a minute or two the first enemies will appear, they will immediately notice you and begin the attack, of course, usually the “light” occurs at a distance of 3-5 km, so you have enough time to plan your further path.
Usually, if the enemy is very close, I go into a frontal attack, and if I’m lucky, I try to avoid a collision, but cause maximum damage to the enemy, I also advise you not to ram. It is also very important not to expose the wings, this is a very weak spot, at least for the Soviet Ils, I will write more about this in a separate topic dedicated to it.
If you are lucky, then you calmly missed the enemy, and are already flying at the enemy columns, first I advise you to launch rockets, line up in the direction of the enemy row, and shoot. Next, there are probably remaining enemies, you can drop bombs on them after turning around, but I would advise looking for non-moving targets like artillery and air defense. After that, you can safely fly towards the enemy, usually reloading guns (missiles and bombs) is not so long, 1-3 minutes, and you can always continue to bomb ships or tanks, but remember, more experience is given for downed aircraft.
Conclusion
As you can see, “attack aircraft” is a rather interesting class of aircraft, the main thing is to think before doing something, do not expose yourself to enemy shots, and do not be greedy, for example, you see an enemy aircraft that flies towards its base, do not touch it, especially if it far away, he flies to his base, where enemy air defenses are, and where enemy planes appear, most likely he sees that he is leading you into an ambush. On this I say goodbye to you, good luck on … in the air))))
