Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 promises to be a breakthrough chipset. Unfortunately, so far developers are in no hurry to add new features to their games. Thus, the appearance of ray tracing in mobile games is still in question, although similar features have been announced by both Qualcomm and Samsung.
However, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers support for generative AI models, and on the device itself, rather than in the cloud. This will allow text responses to queries, likely bypassing ChatGPT, Bing and other AIs.
Qualcomm promises 30% faster CPU performance and 20% improved power efficiency. And the Adreno video chip will offer 25% faster graphics rendering and 25% better chip performance. And all this in SD 8 Gen 3.
Another cool feature in this chipset is the ability to remove objects from videos. And if we talk about games, this processor supports displays with a frequency of 240 Hz and games at 240 FPS. Ray tracing has also been improved by 40% with support for Unreal Engine 5.2.
SD 8 Gen 3 will also offer studio audio and lossless quality over Wi-Fi, even when you walk from room to room. And the sound delay in games will be 48 ms.
We are waiting for the first smartphones based on this chipset.
