So, you decided to explore the great and unknown, the far reaches of space. You are well prepared, got into a spacesuit and are ready to start in search of a big jackpot. And then you suddenly realize that it’s not so easy to understand which of the Eve Online ships is right for you – but damn it, you don’t even know the difference between all these classes?
No need to worry, cosmic simpleton – this guide will clear things up. And remember, for starters – there is no universal solution, the choice of class depends only on preferences and goals.
Before you start – test your skills in managing the ship of the class you want to buy, otherwise the whole enterprise will end up throwing money into the cosmic wind. Just make sure you don’t end up bankrupt and let your fleet down. Each class is controlled differently, and if your skills are not good enough for a ship of a higher class, maybe you should not run without learning how to walk?
Well, if you are tired of Eve Online, try others games.
Frigates
The smallest and fastest ships in Eve Online. Most often used as starting ships, however, with proper skill, they remain deadly for a long time, even at medium and high levels. So, if you like to drive a nimble frigate, you can stop at it. The main thing is to improve your skills.
destroyers
Larger than frigates and more focused on firepower. They have quite a lot of slots, they make it possible to play more aggressively without losing too much speed from frigates. This is a good option even for high levels, as long as it suits your play style.
Cruisers
Universal Courts. Larger than Destroyers, they cost a little more. Their strength is in their versatility. If you wish, you can become a scout, damage dealer or repairman, the specialization is chosen depending on your preferences.
battlecruisers
Similar in size to cruisers, but with more slots. More slots – more versatility! They are more popular among players than the lower classes, just due to the versatile goals that they are able to fulfill. And although their speed is low, the firepower is quite capable of compensating for it.
Battleships
The most powerful of the sub-heavy ships and therefore incredibly expensive. And besides, they are no less popular than battlecruisers, and all thanks to their ability to deal huge damage at long range.
carriers
The first class of heavy ships, with the impressive ability to fly a swarm of light support fighters – frigate-sized drones that do all the dirty work for the carrier. They also provide a huge help to allied pilots by keeping a stockpile of assembled ships in their hangars. Carriers are used, most often, as a means of dealing with all ships of a class below them – from Frigates to Battleships.
Dreadnoughts
Dreadnoughts unlock the top three mega damage dealers! They are surpassed in this indicator only by Supercarriers and Titans. In addition to the already huge damage dealt, dreadnoughts can be equipped with a siege module with a huge range of capabilities, a kind of super-buff, monstrously expensive, but guaranteeing unquestioning dominance on the battlefield.
Auxiliary fleet (Logistics)
These are huge support ships, the second and last of the class of heavy ships. Able to restore a huge amount of shields or armor of allies, or weaken the enemy fleet. Absolutely indispensable when planning large operations to support your own fleet.
supercarriers
A ship this size is out of class and needs a Keepstar-class citadel to dock. It can launch three times as many fighters as the Carrier, and can also launch heavy fighters.
Titans
That’s for sure – ships worthy of their name, absolute champions, huge and invincible. These are the largest ships in Eve Online, they have their own unique modifications that are not available to other ships, such as the Doomsday Machine, Phenomena Generator and Portal Jump.
