The release is scheduled for October 30, this is the official date.
But what may upset the average mobile gamer is the price – Resident Evil 8 is sold for 3,244 rubles, while the App Store states that the game can be downloaded for free. Don’t be surprised, because the introduction is free, but you’ll have to pay extra for the full version. I’ll say right away that the Russian language will be available, and in one of the news there is a screenshot with touch controls on the iPad. In general, everything looks nice, but the number of buttons is breathtaking – there is no talk of any optimization for touch screens and casual gamers. And if you want to purchase the Winters’ Expansion, you will have to pay an additional 1,300 rubles. That is the total cost of Resident Evil 8 will be 4,500 rubles.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will cost even more than RE8
Since we started talking about Resident Evil, let’s continue – Resident Evil 4 Remake has also appeared in the App Store. Only, apparently, Capcom is not yet ready to tell the exact release date, since the Apple market indicates December 31, 2023.
As with Resident Evil 8, the remake of the 4th part will be free to try before purchasing. You will have to pay 5,799 rubles for the basic version and about 2,000 rubles for the DLC set. It turns out that for the full version of Resident Evil 4 Remake you have to pay almost 8,000 rubles. This will probably be the most expensive game in the App Store, even among premium projects. For that kind of money, gamers will receive support for game controllers and Russian localization.
EA Sports FC Mobile 24 – top football game for smartphones
First, eFootball 2024 was released, followed by EA Sports FC Mobile 24. AppTime already has my “debriefing”, where I described the main disadvantage of this game, which, in fact, dates back to the days of FIFA Mobile. If we talk about the pluses, the picture has become better, the smartphone does not heat up, the interface and the player’s managerial work are more understandable even for those who are far from football.
On the first day, they put bots against you, whose team composition is worse than the one they give to a real player at the start: you win matches 10-0, feint, beat defenders and feel like a king. But the very next day there are fewer awards, if they give players, they are passable ones, and there are not enough “garbage” and unnecessary players to upgrade the main squad. The most infuriating thing is when they put real opponents with a higher OVR against you, although you are just trying to complete daily tasks, trying not to jump in over your head and not participate in tournaments. That is, Electronic Arts ends the honeymoon for a newcomer after 2-3 days, forcing you to spend money on a season pass and premium gems. And despite this, even a week after the release, EA Sports FC Mobile is in 1st place in the top App Store, ahead of eFootball 2024 by several positions.
SpongeBob Adventures: In A Jam – who lives at the bottom of the Ocean?
Another new product on iOS and Android is SpongeBob Adventures: In A Jam. This is a casual game where you have to look after the farm, interact with popular characters from SpongeBob, and restore Bikini Bottom. The project is free, so it contains energy spent on all the actions of the heroes.
One of the advantages of SpongeBob Adventures: In A Jam is that the game was not only released in Russia, but it has the Russian language, smooth animations, nice cartoon images and music. That is, it is clear that the project was done with soul and it may appeal to those who were once addicted to The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Metroidvania Elderand is reminiscent of Dead Cells
Let’s return to premium games – Elderand has been released on the App Store and Google Play. It has a Russian language, an easy mode for haters of the Metroidvania genre, and its gameplay is reminiscent of Dead Cells.
Elderand is published by Plug in Digital, you will have to pay 499 rubles for this game, but this did not stop it from taking 63rd place in the top App Store in the action genre. Among the advantages, those who have played note the pleasant visuals and the ability to get stuck for a long time. EVE Galaxy Conquest is a possible replacement for EVE Echoes
In the end, I left the game EVE Galaxy Conquest, which was announced for smartphones and PCs. This will be a strategy in the “4X” format and with an emphasis on multiplayer.
