Studio Slavic Magic, together with publisher Hooded Horse, has announced the future early access of the medieval city-building simulator Manor Lords. The game on the Unreal Engine 4 will appear in Steam, GOG and PC Game Pass April 26, 2024. A version for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass is also in the plans, but without a specific date. Nothing is known about a PlayStation port.
Manor Lords will take us to the real Middle Ages – to the 14th century. We, as a lord, have to protect our people from all dangers: diseases, robbers, natural disasters and other greedy rulers. To do this, you will have to collect resources, expand the boundaries of settlements, build trade routes and not forget about developing your own army.
According to Hooded Horse, Manor Lords “combines detailed settlement building systems and complex production chains that will flow into the tactical combat layer in real time.” It sounds a little abstruse, but, in essence, this means that we will have to send ordinary citizens into battle and in real time solve both issues on the battlefield and deal with the life of abandoned settlements.
“Every day residents are absent is a day without work, and every person killed is one less worker to meet the city’s needs.”
