Cross-platform adventure MMO ASTRA: Knights of Veda is ready to surprise and delight gamers this year, preparing for release in late 2023. This new 2D RPG takes us back to the glory days of side-scrolling arcade games while delivering the challenging gameplay that players have come to expect from games of the modern era.
And given that ASTRA announced text localization into Russian, we are paying increased attention to this product. Let’s see together what the game is all about.
More about ASTRA: Knights of Veda
ASTRA: Knights of Veda is set in the dark medieval fantasy world of Planis, plagued by evil and corruption. You play as one of the knights of the goddess Veda, intending to become the hero of the whole world and save it from death. The adventure will be deadly and filled with a dark atmosphere and a rich narrative, complemented by high-quality stylized graphics and a fully voice-acted story with hundreds of cutscenes and illustrations.
You will lead a team of four knights in battle, alone or in cooperation with other players. ASTRA’s combat system is skill-based and is under complete player control. That is, no auto-combat – you’ll have to think on your feet as you attack, dodge, and use your skills in deadly combat. Challenge yourself in both PvE and real-time PvP battles: fight the Nightmare, search for treasures and strengthen your knights.
It is worth highlighting separately that the game is a cross-platform product, and you can always continue the game from a mobile device if the computer is unavailable for some reason.
Game developer FLINT Studios has partnered with HYBE Interactive Media (HYBE IM) to publish ASTRA: Knights of Veda on PC, Android and iOS. ASTRA will be HYBE IM’s first release, but the company has assembled a team of experienced gaming industry professionals from major publishers including NEXON, NCSoft and EA Korea to ensure ASTRA’s success.
Why you should wait for ASTRA: Knights of Veda
ASTRA: Knights of Veda made its global debut at Gamescom 2023, where attendees could experience the unique art style and playable test build. Since then, more and more gamers have had the opportunity to watch various demos. Based on feedback from testers, the game stands out for its overall visual style and mature setting, as well as PvP content. ASTRA aims to appeal to both new and old fans of the genre, drawing on style and setting while delivering a unique gaming experience.
Reviving a largely forgotten genre in which 2D characters can move side to side, forward and backward across a 2.5D plane, ASTRA will challenge gamers to adapt their mindset on the battlefield. Add in strategy that involves a team of four knights, both solo and in co-op, and ASTRA: Knights of Veda is poised to deliver a challenging experience that rewards strategy and planning over button mashing.
ASTRA: Knights of Veda will feature a variety of characters through a gacha style system. Each hero is challenging to master, having not only a unique visual style and backstory, but also personal weapons, skills and roles. Knights can be tanks, fighters, healers, or support in a classic RPG party system.
Each character also has an elemental ability that is reflected in their attacks and skills. Players will have to switch between characters according to the situation on the battlefield, which requires quick thinking and attention to skill cooldowns. All of this makes it difficult to create a group, whether you’re playing alone or with other players in co-op mode.
There’s also no doubt that ASTRA: Knights of Veda offers a distinct visual style that blends the macabre with the fantastical. Highly detailed characters and fearsome enemies are set against beautifully drawn backgrounds that create an ominous yet exciting mood without distracting from the action.
ASTRA: Knights of Veda will offer dozens of hours of intense story campaigns, as well as additional content providing a variety of entertainment, such as seasonal challenges in the Tower of Trials and Arena PvP modes.
