Game plot

The game introduces us to the main character – the commander of the space fleet, for whom you will play. And instantly you will be thrown into space, which here looks extremely dark, hostile and scary. This place is teeming with all sorts of freaks and crazy people, and you, in turn, are an expendable cloned captain who was sent to find out the reasons for what ruined this place. You travel through a miserable galaxy whose empire, after 700 years of absolute rule, has seemingly died. About twenty years after all this happened, a cloned admiral with a small crew and a tentacled guardian robot are sent to find out why all the signals have stopped. It’s intriguing material and a fun mystery – why was this civilization so dependent on robots and why did it go extinct and become so dark?

Gameplay Features

• It is impossible not to notice that the developers of Crying Suns were inspired by the already familiar FTL, but this is precisely the game that does not imitate another, but is only inspired by its atmosphere, creating something new and unique.
• Space combat involves multiple support ships taking chunks out of each other across a hex grid while gunships fire cannons at each other. The game paid a lot of attention to the plot and dialogues.

Interface features

Most of the main Head-Up Display is taken up by a massive overview screen that shows what’s in front of you, your captain and crew. This decision makes you feel like you are part of this game. It’s as if you are being loaded into this cold, alien and gloomy space, exploring a dead galaxy on your own and just roaming through space. This is a truly excellent design solution that allows you to fully experience the atmosphere. The visuals of the game will simply amaze you, because its art style is extremely unique and unusual. It stands out with its detailed sprites and makes you feel like a real spaceship captain.
