New additions to the world of Metroidvanias. Kumi Souls Games studio together with publisher Playstack showed a new trailer for The Last Faith and announced the release date. The so-called “godless union of metroidvania and soulslike” is scheduled for November 15th.
The game, painfully similar to Blasphemous and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, should be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The plot of The Last Faith takes us to a beautiful and gothic world full of unimaginable monsters, and tells the story of Eric, a wanderer who has lost his memory. On his behalf we will encounter the ancient gods and try to preserve the last grains of our fading sanity. In a word, a typical Metroidvania with the exception of one small problem – the combat system.
According to players who reviewed the demo, the combat system here is as inconvenient and disgusting as in most platformers. Only this time, monstrously difficult opponents were added to it. Still, it’s not for nothing that The Last Faith is called a union of metroidvania and soulslike. If you want to feel all the pain for yourself, take a look at the game’s page on Steam and also try free demo.
