Elden Ring has already broken the box office and collected excellent ratings, but there is another metric where the game has set a serious record – views on YouTube among all game releases.

The statistics were published by IGN, citing data from YouTube Gaming.

Popular games in the first 60 days after their release:

  • Elden Ring – 3.4 billion views.

  • GTAV – 1.9 billion views.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – 1.4 billion views.

  • Super Mario Odyssey – 828 million views.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 638 million views.

  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – 456 million views.

Two subtleties are noted:

  • Many games held back the scale of YouTube in their period. For example, GTAV came out in 2013, when YouTube had a smaller audience than in 2022, when it appeared Elden Ring.

  • Google does not disclose games whose views on release were higher than those of Elden Ringbut still calls it one of the most popular games, and not the most popular.
