Electronic Arts announced new software that should prevent cheating in its games. The creation received the uncomplicated name EA AntiCheat (EAAC) and works at the kernel level.
According to the company, fraudulent programs have evolved so much that not every anti-cheat can detect them. This is due to the fact that some cheats hide at the core level – deeper than the protection extends. Therefore, specialists EA developed a solution that can protect the game from hacking at the same level.
The first game with EAAC on board will be a PC version FIFA 23. This will protect not only gamers on the popular platform from cheaters, but also console users, since the project was equipped with cross-play.
Also, the novelty will prevent cheat authors from experimenting with changing game files through single player mode. According to experts EAthis method is most often used to create fraudulent software for multiplayer.
EA AntiCheat will not be implemented in all games EA. The program will definitely fit into entertainment with multiplayer, but other means of protection will be added to single projects or they will be completely dispensed with.
The company stressed that EAAC only turns on when the game is launched and turns off when the game is closed. The team has done many tests to make sure that the program will not affect the performance of the system.
Recall FIFA 23 will release on September 30 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin), PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Stadia. This part of the simulator will be the last in the series – from 2023 the games will be released under the name EA Sports F.C..
