XCOM 2: War of the Chosen – the fourth addon to the tactical strategy, telling how the Elders choose the three best Chosen to send them to Earth. Their task is to deal with the XCOM special forces. The chosen ones have individual tactics and characters:

• The assassin is a master of stealth and a fighter at close range. She is armed with a sword, shoots a shotgun and uses grenades. Possesses arrogance and considers herself noble.
• The hunter is a sniper armed with additional equipment, including a tranquilizer, grenades and a grappling hook. He likes to taunt his opponent.
• The sorcerer is a psionic who attacks with various abilities and shoots from a machine gun. Claims to be God.

The Chosen Ones can capture the player’s fighters and interrogate them. To kill such a powerful enemy, you need to find their Citadel and take the building by storm. New Advent units will fight on the side of the aliens: Priest, Cleaner and Ghost. During the battles on the destroyed maps that survived the Great Invasion, the Wanderer enemy type will appear in XCOM 2: War of the Chose. To counter the threat, HCOM fighters will enlist the support of three Allies:

• Priests – a detachment that consists of many Slavic people. Masters of stealth and sabotage. Leader – Konstantin Volkov.
• The intercessors are former members of the Advent organization. Tank squad. Leader – Betos.
• Templars are psionics from the Resistance who use psi attacks. Geist is the leader.

Many new weapons have been added, including the Vector Rifle, Claymore, Ripper, Psi Blade, Autopistol, and more. Three new compartments will appear: Hospital, Training Center and Covert Operations Center. New bonuses are available: Breakthroughs and Inspiration and many innovations and improvements that greatly expand the game.
