Space Ace is an interactive cartoon. The gameplay in it is as follows. The user watches screensavers. Periodically, the game during them signals the gamer about the need to make a decision as soon as possible. The user performs an action and, depending on the correctness of the choice, either watches the cut-scene further and moves along the plot, or watches one of the many animations of his character’s death.

Technically, the gameplay in Space Ace is based on the mechanics of QTE. It is similar to Dragon’s Lair – a previous project from the same developer (the graphics were drawn by the studio of the famous cartoonist Don Bluth). This title has some differences from its predecessor besides the different setting and story. There is a non-linearity here. Sometimes the player is allowed to choose a path for their hero. The developers also added three types of difficulty. All animations can only be seen if played on the hardest possible level.

Events take place in the future. Commander Borf is trying to take over Earth with his army and a weapon called the infantile beam. If you shoot it at a person, then he will turn into a helpless baby. The villain kidnaps the beloved of the protagonist Dexter and hits him with this gun. However, instead of a baby, the protagonist becomes a teenager. In emergency situations, he can briefly transform into the superhero Space Ace. The young man goes after the antagonist to save his girlfriend and the entire planet.
