Koumajou Densetsu 2: Stranger’s Requiem – a two-dimensional action-adventure game that directly continues the events of the previous part under the guise of Scarlet Symphony. The gameplay is inspired by old-school metroidvanias, including the famous Castlevania. The heroines of the game are taken from the cult title Touhou.

At the center of the story is the brave protagonist Izayoi Sakaya. Her main goal is to find her mistress, who is lost inside a huge Victorian castle. Sakaya is capable of delivering deadly melee attacks, levitation, and accurately throwing deadly daggers. In the process of passing, she acquires new abilities that will help her on the way. The gameplay features hardcore difficulty, and boss battles will make even the most experienced players sweat.

Like all metroidvanias, with the acquisition of new abilities, new routes and hidden paths open up. The gameplay of Koumajou Densetsu 2: Stranger’s Requiem contains backtracking. Having received additional skills, you must return to previously studied locations in order to open new rooms or unlock various secrets.
