Kohate is a short horror adventure set in the futuristic research center “Kohate”, located in outer space. The project from indie developers uses stealth mechanics that are used to pass difficult areas filled with enemies. The gamer finds himself in the role of a man who was caught by law enforcement officers working for a commercial firm, who sold him at auction to conduct experiments on him to increase their own funding. The user’s task is to provide a virtual protégé escape from this terrible place, having learned along the way a lot of details about the horrors that happened here.

The gameplay consists of a leisurely exploration of available locations that are filled with items that will help solve puzzles that block the path further through the complex. The gloomy halls are inhabited by creatures that look like hellish offspring, which are aggressive towards the main character, and are ready to attack at any moment. This forces you to act carefully, looking around, and think over each decision several times. The non-linearity of the story will allow you to get one of a pair of endings. For those who do not want to hide from enemies, there is a casual mode in which only puzzles remain.
