The game spans the time span between 41 and 45 years. The campaign consists of a variety of intense missions that will provide an opportunity to participate in military operations in cities such as Lviv, Moscow, Berlin and many other locations around the world.

Depending on the task, you have to deal with three types of operations. Use three types of aircraft: fighter, attack aircraft and bomber. IL-2 Sturmovik offers to fight on the side of the USSR, Great Britain, Australia, USA, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Japan and many other powers.
