Hylics 2 is a role-playing adventure in a surreal setting that uses atypical visuals to create its own style, which has not been used before. Objects of the environment in the locations where the player moves are made in acidic colors of the brightest palette. All characters and territories are hand-designed by one person, which is what this project developed using 3D scanning of clay figures.

The single-player campaign is a set of tasks that have to be completed by the main character named Wayne, who has a crescent-shaped head. The virtual protege decided on such a journey in order to prevent the tyrant Gibby from destroying their universe, who was defeated many centuries ago, but returned to the world of the living through the efforts of his minions for the sake of completing his original plan. The protagonist will have to assemble a motley team due to the fact that alone to cope with all the enemies (there are 25 types of enemies in total) will not work.

The gameplay consists in exploring the world, collecting items to upgrade equipment and gain new abilities with the help of special TVs that teach the main character and his comrades. The combat system is made in turn-based mode, where all units on the battlefield take turns using attacking or defensive skills. In addition to the storyline, the project contains a lot of additional content, for example, a platformer-style mini-game with a side view.
