Golden calf tells about the adventures of Ostap Bender. An adventurer, swindler and rogue arrives in the city of Arbatov. Having assembled a team in the person of Shura Balaganov and Mikhail Panikovsky, the Great Combinator became interested in a gentleman living in Chernomorsk by the name of Koreiko. This man is rumored to be an underground millionaire.

The Golden Calf quest was based on the satirical novel of the same name by Ilya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov. In this project, three playable characters are the main rogue himself and his two accomplices. There is no character selection. According to the plot, the game itself switches to the desired anti-hero. Instead of screensavers, an interactive book is used, where they offer to read quotes from the original work and look at the illustrations. With this technique, the developers connected the disparate levels to each other. The narrative does not completely copy the original source. At some points, the developers changed the events to insert puzzles.

Management is carried out using the mouse. An interactive cursor shows exactly what action can be performed when hovering over an object.
