Earthworm Jim is an arcade platformer set in a 2D space world in which the player, on behalf of an unusual superhero, sets off to rescue a kidnapped princess and prevent usurpers from seizing the throne.

Once upon a time, Jim was an ordinary earthworm, and his daily routine was to absorb humus and hide from birds. But one day, a large-scale space battle broke out right above his head, as a result, an ultra-technological super-suit fell to the ground, into which Jim accidentally crawled and mutated into a reasonable and large superhero. Now he belongs to the cosmic world and has become embroiled in a palace coup in the battle for the throne – he is claimed by the Worm Queen – a cruel tyrant who has conceived to seize the power that belongs by right of succession to the Princess-What-Her-There. The princess is languishing in prison, her fate is sad and Jim decides to go to her aid, using his newfound skills and powers.

On your way will stand the evil mercenary Psi-Crow, the brilliant scientist Professor Monkeyhead and all the armies of the Queen Wormhole, thirsting for only one thing – your head, for which there is a big reward. Visit surreal locations, explore the possibilities of the supersuit, look for weapons, develop dexterity and reach the final to meet with the Queen of the Worm and protect the Princess-What-Her-There from the intrigues of the invaders.
