Gears Tactics – tactical strategy in a familiar universe. The spin-off of the series will expand the lore and add many new characters to the history of the world. The plot takes you back during the fight against the Locust horde, to the very beginning of the confrontation on the planet Sera, 12 years before the events shown in the first part. You have to play for Gabe Diaz, gathering your squad bit by bit, in different cities, subjected to attacks by an unknown, so far, enemy. The purpose of the unit being created is to hunt down and kill the evil genius Yukkon. He is a genetic engineer, creating more and more creatures to enslave the human race. He is the father of the big bosses that will need to be defeated over the course of the game: Rivera, Brumak, and Corpser.

Join your squad with characters with their own backstories and motives for joining your squad: Major Sid Redburn, Augusto Cole or engineer Mikayla Dorn. There is also a class system. Combine heavy infantry, scouts, snipers, vanguards and support units with your commander and create an unbeatable military force. Each member of your team can be upgraded, equipped with new armor and customized as you please.

During a turn, each fighter has three actions to perform: move, attack, and activate skills. All this can be done one by one, without having to wait for the next round. Of the innovations in the genre, the observation function can be noted – the hero will inspect the territory in the zone of his visibility and open fire when he notices danger. Or the ability to execute a wounded Locust in close combat and thereby restore the right to move to the entire unit.

The ability to conduct each battle in the most diverse way gives scope for replaying Gears Tactics, and nice animations and effects will drag you into the gameplay.
