Close Combat 3: the English Front is a new campaign following the Eastern Front of the German invasion of the USSR. As in other parts of the series, the player is able to take advantage of the realism setting, disabling the fog of war, unit initiative, the difficulty of accessing information about the enemy, and other features.

The user will choose any side in the global conflict, and will receive different goals. In battles, there is a mental state of squads and individual units. Morale will be affected by factors such as the location of officers, support from other groups, being under heavy fire, the number of wounded allies and orders. If the morale is low, then on the “breakthrough” command, the units will, on the contrary, seek cover or even run away from the battlefield.

The ammo system is assigned to each unit. Each of them receives a certain number of rounds. If the bullets run out, then they resort to the use of edged weapons, or try to pick up ammunition from the dead people. If the ward has no choice, and the enemies are approaching, then he will surrender to them. Soldiers have a different physical condition. Injuries will affect their functions. Many of them will be paralyzed, with severed limbs, or incapacitated in some other way.

Tactical and strategic elements create a realistic military environment. The user will use combined arms commands and tactics, achieving success in battles. To suppress the fire, the support of machine gunners, tanks or mortars will be required. Armored cars or heavy equipment will crush the morale of rivals and help win the collision.
