The first survival game in the Lord of the Rings universe – The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria – has been released. The game tells the story of the dwarves who returned to their halls under the Misty Mountains at the call of Lord Gimli to revive the ancient kingdom.
The only negative is that the brainchild of the independent studio Free Range Games is available only for PC, and even in Epic Games Store, not Steam. Ports for consoles are planned, but will appear later: for PlayStation 5 on December 5, and for Xbox Series only in early 2024.
As we mentioned earlier, in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria we have to go down into the mines of Moria and return the lost treasures of the Dwarven people. To do this, you will have to explore the mines, extract jewelry and fight with uninvited guests. The well-known Gimli, one of the main characters in books and films about Middle-earth, takes us on this journey. And he is voiced by John Rhys-Davies, the actor who played Gimli in Peter Jackson’s trilogy.
The most interesting gameplay feature of the game is the cooperative mode. What could be more fun than surviving in abandoned mines with a company of loyal dwarven friends? Together you will explore procedurally generated locations, craft new armor to protect against goblins and orcs, and mine a variety of metals.
