Some time ago, Infinix and Bubble announced a collaboration to create an original comic book, “Infinix: City of Heroes,” and now everyone can read it on the official website. It goes without saying that the company did not intend to limit itself to comics only, and therefore today I propose to take a look at another result of their cooperation – the Infinix Note 30 Bubble Edition gift set, which includes not only merch based on the mentioned comic, but also a good smartphone.

It’s worth starting the story about this gift set with a description of the comic book “Infinix: City of Heroes” itself, from which everything in the set is inspired. The story tells us about the adventures of heroes named Hot, Zero, Note and Smart (readers familiar with Infinix products may have noticed that their names coincide with the names of various series of smartphones from the manufacturer) and who fight monsters attacking their city. In battles, Hot and Note use exoskeletons, Smart uses intelligence, and Zero uses magic. Basic knowledge about the comic has been obtained, and therefore you can move on to the set itself.

Infinix Note 30 Bubble Edition comes in a large box with colorful designs on all sides and dimensions of 370x290x85 millimeters. Inside, the recipient of the gift will find a 28-page comic, a set of stickers, a trio of cardboard bookmarks, an acrylic figurine and, in fact, a box with an Infinix Note 30 smartphone, as well as a silicone case for it with the characters “Infinix: City of Heroes”. Acrylic figures, by the way, in such sets there are two types, and therefore some will receive a set with Note, and others with Hot. Instructions for assembling the figures are included.

As for the contents of the box with the smartphone, in addition to the Infinix Note 30, you can find a 45-watt power supply, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, a silicone case, a protective glass and a clip for the SIM card tray.

Looking at the merch in detail, I hasten to note the good art in the comic, which in itself is a completely standard superhero story, but inside there are also certain elements of interaction with the reader (QR code with stickers for Telegram).

In my case, the set included an acrylic figurine of Hot, which when assembled looks like this.

The previously mentioned bookmarks are made of thick cardboard and there are no questions about the quality of printing of the art with the characters on them.

The smartphone case perfectly matches it in shape and is made of black, pleasant-to-touch silicone, and on the outside, as mentioned above, there is a drawing with the characters “Infinix: City of Heroes”. The case fits perfectly on the smartphone, and if you want to keep it as a collector’s item, let me remind you that there is another case included with the smartphone itself.

The last item from the comic book gift set is a set of stickers that you can use to decorate something if you wish.

Now you can move on to the Infinix Note 30 itself, which is also available for separate purchase. The smartphone is not small at all and boasts dimensions of 76.6 x 168.6 x 8.6 millimeters and a weight of 219 grams. The back cover and side frame of the smartphone are plastic, but the screen is covered with glass with an oleophobic coating. The kit, as mentioned earlier, includes two cases and a protective glass, so you will definitely be able to protect the case from damage.

The volume key, as well as the power key combined with a fingerprint scanner, are located on the right side of the smartphone, and on the left is a tray for a SIM card and microSD.

At the bottom we see the main speaker, a USB Type-C connector, a microphone and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and at the top there is another speaker and the JBL logo, which helped with setting up the sound in the smartphone.

The back panel of the smartphone is plastic, but, fortunately, it is matte, and therefore fingerprints on it are virtually invisible (if you carry the phone in a branded case, then this problem does not exist at all), but the same cannot be said about the glossy surroundings of the camera unit. This element is very easily soiled, but poking your finger at the lenses is clearly not the best idea, and therefore there is no point in finding fault here. The plastic case of the smartphone, by the way, is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP53 standard. Let me clarify that this is a very simple protection, and therefore you should not rely on it.

The front panel is almost entirely devoted to a large 6.78-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2460×1080 pixels and a vertical scanning frequency of 120 Hz. The frames on the sides of the screen take up 3 millimeters of the area, on top – 4 millimeters, but the “chin” took up 7 millimeters at once.

The screen has a peak brightness of about 450 nits, and the IPS matrix allows it to demonstrate virtually maximum viewing angles. It is not very comfortable to use a smartphone in the sun due to the low brightness, but in other scenarios everything is more than good.

In the settings, the user is free to choose a screen refresh rate between 60, 90 and 120 Hz to ensure maximum smoothness, maximum battery life, or a balance between these parameters. The smartphone also supports automatic change of vertical scan frequency depending on the content on the screen.

Powering the Infinix Note 30 is the Mediatek MT8781 Helio G99 processor with Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. The smartphone also has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (there is also a version of the phone with 256 GB). In Antutu, the smartphone scores just under 400,000 points, and in Geekbench 6 we see 724 points for single thread and 1997 points for multi-thread. This hardware can handle simple games without any problems, but the conventional Genshin Impact will become a real test for it.

However, thanks to this process and a battery of as much as 5000 mAh, the user can expect more than 20 hours in the browser or 14-15 hours of video playback, and in the mentioned light games you can spend up to 8 hours on a full battery charge. The numbers, to put it mildly, are very respectable, and if you also take into account the 45-watt charging, which will replenish the phone’s charge in less than an hour, then it’s absolutely a fairy tale.

The camera unit of the Infinix Note 30 consists of a 64-megapixel module, as well as two auxiliary modules of 2 and 0.3 megapixels. There is nothing special to say about the camera; the quality of the images is quite typical for smartphones in this price segment. During the day you can get good results, but at night… you can’t. By the way, there is no optical stabilization in the camera, but I suggest you look at examples of pictures below.

In general, the smartphone works quickly, the system is responsive, and the animations are smooth and do not slow down. Yes, it’s better not to use the Infinix Note 30 with heavy games, but the device can handle Epic Seven or Azur Lane without difficulty. The main camera in the smartphone will allow the user to take good pictures in normal lighting, and the large battery and energy-efficient processor will make it possible to charge the Note 30 times every 2-3 days.

Summing up all of the above, I would like to note that the Infinix Note 30 Bubble Edition set turned out to be interesting, but the question arises as to why the art with the characters was placed on the case, and not directly on the smartphone. At the same time, I don’t have any comments about the quality of the merch, and there’s no need to spend money on it – the sets will be won as part of competitions from Bubble and Infinix, one of which is being held right now.

Contest

Infinix and Bubble invite you to imagine what kind of hero you could be in the Infinix metropolis. To participate in the competition and have a chance to win the set described above, you will need to come up with your own hero and publish him and information about him on VK with the hashtag #InfinixCity of Heroes before September 30.
