Residents of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Uruguay and Turkey will have to additionally fork out for the games of the Japanese publisher. In some countries, the price tags have soared one and a half times, and in some – almost seven times. In Colombia and Peru, prices increased not so much, and for some titles they even decreased.
The increase in price affected the last games of the series Devil May Cry, resident evil and Mega Man. In addition, the cost of all kinds of DLC and collections with these projects has increased. Although in the same Kazakhstan Devil May Cry 5 and remake Resident Evil 2 became cheaper by an average of 35%.
According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, operating profit capcom
decreased by 48.9%. The company associated the drop in performance with the lack of high-profile hits like Resident Evil Village at the beginning of the year. At the same time, the publisher has high hopes for sales in the fall of 2022 and early 2023, when the remake releases are planned. Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6.
