Team Blizzard reported that over the past few weeks it has blocked 120,000 user accounts due to the use of bots to extract resources. This mainly affected World of Warcraft Classic.

The developers noticed that with the release of the add-on Wrath of the Lich King Classic increased the number of complaints on the forums. Bot breeders created accounts with characters of the Death Knight class. They immediately start the game at level 55. Fraudsters used this to get high-level resources and sell them for real money.

Previously, there was a restriction on the creation of the “Death Knight”. The user could not choose this class until at least one of his characters was pumped to level 55. Release developers Wrath of the Lich King Classic did not begin to introduce this restriction in order to give the opportunity to play for the “Death Knight” to everyone. But scammers took advantage of this, so Blizzard returned the restriction with the new patch.
