In September, Polish publisher CD Projekt RED reported that Cyberpunk 2077 managed to sell a total circulation of 20 million copies. Now the numbers have been updated – 25 million copies for the base version and 3 million copies for the Phantom Liberty DLC.

CD Projekt RED says that The Witcher 3 achieved similar results in 4.5 years, and Cyberpunk 2077 managed to achieve such sales in just over 2 years. Moreover, 8 million copies came from pre-orders, some of them for the previous generation of consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It’s interesting that despite the wave of hate addressed to them, Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt managed not only to strengthen their position and again gain the love of fans, but also to improve their performance since The Witcher 3, which is considered the best game from the “Poles.”

I believe that it was the work on the bugs that resulted in update 2.0, plus the release of Phantom Liberty, that allowed CD Projekt to finish their work and finally release Cyberpunk 2077 as it had been promised for many years of development.
