Within the framework of the exhibition Nintendo Indie World Showcase 2023 developers from WSS Playground and Team Ladybug presented a 2D platformer in the spirit of cyberpunk, similar to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Pixel action Blade Chimera will be released as a temporary one exclusive for Nintendo Switch, and then, perhaps, will appear on other platforms. There is no release date yet, but the new product is expected in the spring of 2024.
The plot of Blade Chimera will show us the world through the eyes of the demon hunter Sheena, who lost his memory and now explores the world with his faithful friend – a sword created from a demon. Our goal is to collect the fragments of the past and remember forgotten skills in order to find our way in this world.
The events of the platformer will take us to the future, where humanity is destroyed by another merciless war, and real demons and ghouls roam the streets. The survivors have united into the Missa, a religious sect that knows how to destroy the demons once and for all.
Judging by the trailer and description in Nintendo store, in Blade Chimera we have to explore the world and fight opponents with a variety of weapons, such as the already mentioned sword, daggers and pistols. By the way, the sword will help us the most – with it you can create platforms, climb walls and fly over abysses.
